Description

Nos. 17 and 19, known as Belfont House, are a pair of houses dating to the early 19th century, with alterations made in the mid-19th century. The houses are constructed of painted yellow brickwork in a Flemish bond pattern, featuring flat arches and pilasters with capitals formed from stepped brickwork, topped by a parapet with vase ornaments. They have a tile roof. The symmetrical northeast front elevation is centred on a wider section, with two storeys and a 1-1-1 window arrangement. Original sash windows are present, along with a later two-storeyed central splayed bay containing sashes. There are two plain doorways. The rear of the property has an irregular layout, including a central three-storeyed wing. A low wall, topped with wrought-iron railings incorporating ornamental features, closes the forecourt.
