Description
Ye Olde Englishman Public House is a late 17th century to 18th century building located on Queen Street. It is constructed of painted brick, with part of the side being tile hung. The building features a modillion eaves cornice and a tiled roof, and it has two storeys plus an attic in the gable end. The front facade has three windows, with the center window being blank. There are Victorian engraved glass windows on the side and one front ground floor window. To the north, there is a small canted bay with a cornice that now has modern glazing. The doorway is adorned with pilasters, a cornice with an entablature, and a small flat hood. Ye Olde Englishman Public House is part of a group that includes the Anglesea Hotel and West End House on Stamford Hill.
