Description

Thomas Tripp is an 18th-century building located on Stanford Road. The structure is stuccoed and features a cornice and a coped parapet. It has a western extension with a facade made of painted brick and a slate roof. The building is two storeys high with an attic, containing two windows and two dormers. The first-floor windows have intact sashes with glazing bars. The doorway is adorned with an entablature, cornice, pilasters, and a rectangular fanlight. On the Queen Street facade, there are two windows with iron balconettes on the first floor, along with a door that also has an entablature, cornice, and pilasters. There is an additional one-storey range with two windows. The building occupies an important corner position at a road junction. The Thomas Tripp and West End House, which is a building of local interest, form a group with Ye Olde Englishman Public House on Queen Street.
