Description
Pennys Cottage is a 16th-century cottage that had its roof raised in the 18th century. It features a timber-frame structure with thin upper walls, painted brick infill, and a thatched roof. The cottage is one and a half storeys tall and consists of three bays, with additional structures added to the rear and a high plinth. The front of the cottage has a hipped brick porch that includes a plank door and sidelights in the right-hand bay, along with a single light window beside it. There is a five-light casement window in the center, a two-light window above the center bay, and a long eyebrow dormer over the porch that contains two and four-light casements. The roof is hipped to the left-hand side, and there is a stack located on the hip between the left-hand and center bays, as well as at the right-hand end.
