Description
Nos 23 and 24 on High Street are early 19th-century buildings. No 23 is constructed of red brick with yellow brick dressings, featuring a cornice and parapet. It has outer yellow brick pilasters and stands three storeys tall with two windows. The first floor has French casements with glazing bars, while the upper floor has sash windows with vertical glazing bars. There are heavy cornices above the windows. The shop front has been altered in the 19th century, displaying three arches over the shop windows, central doors, and end shops, with a dentil cornice above, a frieze, and architrave on side brackets above the windows. No 24 is finished in stucco and also has three storeys and two windows. The first-floor sash windows, which have glazing bars, are likely replacements. Its shop front features a dentil cornice on brackets and side pilasters. Nos 22 to 24 together form a group.
