Description
Ellingham Farmhouse is a farmhouse that likely has an earlier core dating back to the late 17th century, with alterations made in the 18th and 19th centuries. It is constructed of brick with stone quoins and features a slate roof. The building is two stories high and has a four-bay front range from the 17th century, with a taller, possibly older wing at one end and an early 19th-century wing to the side, creating a shaped house.
The front of the farmhouse has a 19th-century square-plan flat-roof porch on the left-hand side of the center, which has double doors under a cambered arch and windows on the sides. The other bays contain 16-pane sash windows under rubbed brick arches. On the first floor, there are two-light casements in all but the right-hand center bay. The eaves are coved plaster, and the roof is hipped. At the left-hand end of the ridge, there is a small hip to the higher wing, and on the ridge of this wing, there is a large L-section stack. The left wing has four bays, similar in style, with a plank door and two-light casements.
