Description
Turmer House is a house dating from the early 18th century, with alterations made in the late 18th century, possibly by S Wyatt, and further changes in the 19th century. It is constructed of brick and has a slate roof. The building is two stories high with an attic and features a three by two bay layout, positioned with the end facing the road. The front has a plinth that is interrupted by a 19th-century porch. The bay facing the road includes a late 18th-century 16-pane sash window set beneath a rendered arch. The far bay has a 19th-century long single-storey service range with a hip roof in front of it. On the first floor, there are 12-pane sash windows under rendered arches, two of which have thick glazing bars. Above the center, there is a late 18th-century architraved gable featuring an arched pivoting window in the middle. The house has end stacks and pedimented gables, along with a 20th-century conservatory on the road end.
