Description
ROCKBOURNE SU 11 NW 5/56 Brookheath House II
Small country house. Late C17 house, extended early C18, new entrance block early C19 when dower house of Eyre Coote family, altered early C20. Painted and stuccoed brick, slate roof. Original house 2 storey, 3 bay, the C18 bay added to end and taller range added behind, in early C19 to one end new entrance block added of 2 storey and attic, 3 bay with projecting one bay wings to end bays, to one end two 2 bay, 2 storey additions. 2 storey and attic, 3 bay with set-back to LH 2 storey, 2 bay wing and to LB again slightly set-back similar. Main part has recessed centre with projecting porch of Doric columns with glazed double doors and side lights between. Over C20 room added. In end bays large sash window 12-pane on 1st floor. 2nd floor band and 6-pane sashes in attic, including set back in centre. Low parapet with coping stack at RH end. Additions have similar windows, band and parapet. Stack between 2 sections.
