Description

This early 19th-century house, now used as an office, is located on Queen Street in Emsworth. The north front presents a symmetrical facade of three storeys and three windows, constructed from stucco with a slate roof. A hipped roof is topped by wide eaves supported by brackets, and a band runs along the first floor. Stone sills define the sash windows, with the centre window on the second floor being blank. A half-glazed folding door is centrally positioned on the first floor. A porch with an oval plan and four columns leads to a six-panelled door. The east elevation is also of three storeys, with a window arrangement of 1-1-1. A wide chimney with a pediment and a projecting centrepiece featuring a tall window within a recessed arch are prominent features, as is a plinth. Sashes include three blank panels, and the first-floor centre window has a delicate wrought-iron balcony with a diagonal pattern. The porch has been altered more recently.
