Description
Newnham House is a house built around 1800, constructed of brick with a tile roof. It features a symmetrical front facing south, consisting of three storeys and three windows. The red brickwork is laid in Flemish bond, and the building has a parapet with stone coping, along with a stone band above a brick-dentilled fascia. There are stone wedge lintels, a stone band at the second floor, a cill band at the first floor, and an impost band for the ground floor openings. The first and ground floor openings are set in recesses, featuring cambered and rubbed arches, and there is a cement plinth. The windows are sashes set in reveals, while the ground floor has bow windows with casements. The doorway is adorned with a Coade and brick arch, a radiating fanlight, plain stone quoins, a thin cornice, a panelled frieze, and reeded pilasters, leading to a six-panelled door above four stone steps. To the east, there is a former single-storey stable that has a garage opening beneath a cambered relieving arch.
