Description

The pair of houses at 18 and 20 Queen Street, with number 18 currently an office, were built in the late 18th century. They are constructed of red brick in a Flemish Garden Wall bond, with a tile roof and brick dentil eaves. The houses are three storeys high and have two windows each. Number 20 has a symmetrical east-facing elevation with a 1-1-1 window arrangement, topped by a pediment gable containing a cement-panelled Vesica. The sashes are in exposed frames, and there is a central casement window at the top. The east elevation also features a wood doorcase with a cornice, frieze, panelled pilasters, and a six-panelled door with two upper glazed panels. The entrances are located on the sides of the buildings, with the entrance to number 18 being a mid-20th century addition.
