Description
The Lord Raglan Public House is an early 19th-century building located on Queen Street in Emsworth. It features a combination of flint and brick construction topped with a tiled roof. The symmetrical front, facing north, consists of two storeys and three widely spaced windows with doors in between. The hipped roof has brick dentil eaves. The flint walling is accented with yellow brick dressings, including quoins and flat rubbed arches on the first floor, as well as cambered rubbed openings on the ground floor. Two of these openings have radiating fluted spandrels, and the building has a plinth. The windows include sashes in reveals, with a three-light sash on the ground floor of the west side, casements on the east side, and casements in a central bow. There are also two later half-glazed doors. The simpler east elevation has two upper and two lower windows, along with a central six-panelled door (two of which are top-glazed) set within a segmental arched recess.
