Description
The Shades Public House is an early 19th-century establishment located on Sea Front Road in Havant. It features painted brick construction with a slate roof, standing two stories high and comprising three windows across its façade. The brickwork is laid in Flemish bond, topped with a parapet that has stone coping and a stucco moulded cornice, along with rubbed flat arches above the windows. The windows are sash types set in reveals, while the west side boasts two grand floor bow windows with a door situated between them, all beneath a continuous canopy. The central doorway is flanked by pilasters and supported by large brackets that hold up the canopy. The east side of the building includes a mid-20th-century bay and a garage entrance.
