Description

Stamford Lodge is a house dating to circa 1830. It is constructed of stucco, with a slate roof. Originally, the east front was symmetrical, with two storeys and a layout of one bay, then one bay, then one bay of windows. However, the north side now features a two-storey splayed bay window of three windows, topped by a gable. The roof has a low pitch, hips, wide eaves supported by carved brackets against a fascia, and end pilasters with a Greek fret motif. A first-floor band runs along the building, and the window openings are detailed with a cornice and frieze above thin pilasters, and stone sills. The windows are Victorian sash windows set in reveals. A porch has a low gable supported by brackets, a cambered arch on thin coupled columns, trellis infilling, a fanlight, and a panelled door. Rear extensions of similar design have been added to the north side.
