Description

This milestone, dating from 1826, is located on London Road in Hook. It is made of standard white stone and has a square section set diagonally. The top is chamfered and features the lettering 'PARISH OF ODIHAM'. The front is curved and displays large incised letters spelling 'LONDON' above a triangular chamfer that indicates the distance of '40' miles to London. The lettering and numbers on each face at the lower level have become difficult to read.
