Description
This 19th-century milestone is a slender square stone with a rounded top, positioned diagonally to the highway. The south face of the stone displays the inscription 'To READING 8 Miles', while the north face reads 'To ODIHAM, 4 miles'. The original incised letters have been removed due to the creation of slightly recessed panels, which have been painted.
