Description
Holt Farmhouse is a house dating from 1679, with early 19th-century and modern alterations. It features double gable ends, particularly in the earlier northern half. The front is two storeys high with an attic and has two windows, while there is a lower two-storey extension to the east with one window. The roof is covered in red tiles, and there are brick dentil eaves in parts, along with a tile-hung west gable and two gabled dormers. The walls are primarily painted brick with early 19th-century hoodmoulds and a plinth, while part of the south front has red brick walling in Flemish bond that extends eastward into a recent addition. The windows include casements and sashes in the south block. A gabled brick porch features an arched doorway, which contains a solid door frame dated 1679 with a 18th-century six-panelled door inside. The interior includes beams, doors, and a massive chimney.
