Description

Harfield Farmhouse is a house dating to the 17th century, with alterations and extensions made in the early and mid-19th century. The walls are constructed of brickwork in English bond, with a prominent plinth, and painted brickwork in Flemish bond. The roof is tiled, with varying levels, and features a large rectangular stack supporting four diagonal flues. The original building had a T-shaped plan, and was later extended with lower additions. The north front features a projecting gable on the west side, and a blind arch on the east side. The house is two storeys high, with a symmetrical front of eleven window bays. It has casement windows and a doorway with a reeded architrave and an open gabled hood supported by carved brackets; the door is six-panelled, with four glazed panels at the top.
