Description

Manor Farmhouse is a house dating from the 17th and 18th centuries, with alterations around 1900. It has a timber-framed core, an 18th-century extension to the east, and modern additions to the west. The roof is tiled, with gables and hips. A large central chimney stack features arched panels, and there are other, more recent chimney stacks designed in a traditional style. Dormers are fitted with hipped roofs and tiled cheeks. The north side reveals a timber-framed gable, partially timbered and brick-nogged; a modern version of this is located in the middle of the three gables visible from the south front, while other gable ends are tile-hung. The walls are primarily red brick, laid in a Flemish Garden Wall bond on the east side, with cambered ground-floor openings, and English bond elsewhere. The east gable of the south front has a first-floor band and incorporates small, old bricks in Flemish bond. Casement windows are in place. A timber-framed entrance has been added more recently.
