Description

Cromwells is a 17th-century example of a small vernacular cottage. The main section is a low, single-storey block with an attic, and there is a cross piece attached at the west end. It has a new tile roof that is hipped at the east and gabled at the west, with a separate half-hipped roof at right angles above the west block. There are three small gabled dormers. The cottage features exposed framing, which is rendered in the older part and brick-nogged at the west. The windows are irregularly spaced small casements, and there is a ground-floor bay on the west side.
