Description

The barn to the north of Dipley Grange is an 18th-century structure consisting of four bays and featuring an aisle on the north side. The aisle is interrupted at the second bay from the east by an entrance. The timber frame of the barn is supported by a low brick wall, with straight struts connecting the tie beams to the verticals and purlins, although one section includes arch braces to a Queen Post truss. The eastern end of the barn has boarded walls, while the aisle walls and western gables are constructed of brickwork, with the internal framing being brick-nogged. The roof is covered with red tiles, with a half-hip at the eastern end, a full hip above the entrance, and a gabled western end.
