Description

Old School Cottage is a house dating from 1810, originally a school. It comprises a single-storey north-south block with a gable facing the road, and a gabled porch on its west side. Behind the porch is a taller, later classroom block. The roof is slate, with plain projecting bargeboards featuring curved brackets and a block base. The walls are painted brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with cambered openings. Casement windows are present. A modern glazed door has been inserted into the main gable, below a stone plaque inscribed "PARISH SCHOOL 1840".
