Description
This is a house with an attached schoolroom, built at right angles to the road and dated 1828 on a plaque on the eastern gable end. The structure is made of coursed, squared rubble with quoins. The two-storey, three-bay house features a graduated slate roof with stone copings, kneelers, and end chimneys. The central doorway leads to a gabled porch with a pointed head and hoodmould. There are tall cross-windows on either side of the porch, each with a reduced height version above, flanking a central trompe l'oeil window. The single-storey schoolroom to the east has a graduated slate roof and a brick end chimney. Its central porch and two tall windows on either side match those of the house, although the door is a 20th-century part-glazed design. All windows have chamfered stone surrounds, square heads, hoodmoulds, and label stops.
