Description
Henry Randell's Almshouses, built in 1857, is a small Gothic/Tudor style group arranged symmetrically on one floor, featuring a two-storey centre. The building has a steep red tiled roof with bargeboards on the gables above the centre, on each side, and above the porches, which are located on each side of the centre and at each end. A bell turret sits above the tall centre gable, and there is a clock face on the wall inside. The structure has tall brick stacks and is constructed of red brick with blue diaper patterns. Large blue initials, "H" on the south side and "R" on the north side, are displayed on each gable, along with large blue date numbers, "18" and "57," on either side of the first-floor window of the centre. The windows are mullion and transom casements with diagonal leaded lights, and the doors are plain, located within the porches.
