Description

The property at 49 and 50 High Street dates from around 1830. It is a two-story building with a painted white facade featuring a string course at first floor level, a corniced top, and a parapet. The roof is not visible. The building has five windows with sash glazing bars intact, set within moulded architraves. A doorway is present with pilasters, projecting cornices, and rectangular fanlights. The building forms part of a group of listed buildings along High Street and Union Street, alongside the listed street lamps, Nos 1 and 2, the Parish Church of St Peter and St Paul on Church Place, the Red Lion Hotel, and No 10 East Street.
