Description
Lysses, located on High Street in Fareham, is an early 19th-century building faced with painted Roman cement. It features a cornice and parapet, and stands two storeys tall with four sash windows that have glazing bars. The ground floor windows are adorned with cornices above them. The entrance porch is supported by coupled Doric pilasters and Ionic columns on either side, with a doorway that includes a rectangular fanlight. There are north and south extensions, each one and a half storeys high. The northern extension has two bays, a door, and two dormers, while the southern extension consists of three bays and includes a carriage entrance to the rear. This building is part of a group of listed buildings on High Street and Union Street, which includes the listed street lamps, Nos 1 and 2, the Parish Church of St Peter and St Paul, the Red Lion Hotel, and No 10 East Street. No 45 on High Street is noted for its local interest.
