Description
Nos 34 to 36 on High Street are 18th-century buildings made of painted brick, featuring a brick eaves cornice and a hipped roof covered with old tiles. They stand two stories tall with a basement. No 34 has two windows, while No 35 has three windows with a blank center and a lower, two-story, one-bay section at the north end. All windows are sashes with boxed frames and glazing bars. No 34 includes a 19th-century shop window with glazing bars, along with a door beneath an entablature that has a cornice frieze and architrave supported by pilasters. No 35 features a six-panelled door. These buildings, along with the listed street lamps, form a group with other nearby listed buildings, including Nos 1 and 2, the Parish Church of St Peter and St Paul, the Red Lion Hotel, and No 10 East Street. No 45 on High Street is of local interest.
