Description
This is an early 19th century row of cottages located on Chestnut Avenue in Eastleigh. The row comprises numbers 234 to 244 (even). The cottages are two storeys high, with a single window each. They have thatched roofs with eyebrow-hooded windows, the window sills running at eaves level. The walls are constructed of red brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with English bond (using blue headers) at the side. The ground floor windows have cambered arches, and a yellow band runs along the first floor of numbers 238 to 244. Quoins suggest that numbers 234 and 236 were built slightly later. The windows are casements.
