Description

Channels Farmhouse is a 16th and 17th-century farmhouse, altered in the early 19th century. It is timber-framed with brick infill, now stuccoed, and has a thatched roof that sweeps over the first-floor windows, with a half-gable to the right and a lean-to over one storey on the left. There are two groups of clustered chimney shafts with moulded caps and bases. It features three three-light casement windows on the first floor, and two similar windows on the ground floor. The central doorway has five panels, with a modern lead-glazed top panel, and is set beneath an early 19th-century thatched porch that is segmental in plan and supported on four slender Doric columns. A two-storey angular bay extends from the east elevation.
