Description
The main building, including the booking hall, at Swaythling Railway Station was constructed in 1883 and is designed in an elaborate Neo-Flemish style. It is a single-storey structure made of red brick with orange brick dressings. On the left side, there is a Flemish gable featuring a central pediment and ball finials, along with a date tablet. The building has five windows, which are 3-light casements with cambered heads, keystones, and moulded cills and aprons beneath. The roof is tiled and sweeps over the door and two windows, supported by wooden brackets. The entrance features a simple doorcase with a cambered arch.
