Description
Huntingford Cottage is a house that dates from the 16th century, 17th century, and early 19th century. It features a mix of walling materials and has a tile roof. The building includes a late medieval timber-framed hall and a two-storey cross wing at the east end, with a stack at the junction that replaces a smoke bay. There is a 17th-century extension at the west end. The front (north) of the house is two storeys high and has one and three windows. The roof is hipped, with a half-hip to the cross wing, and there is a shafted stack. The massive framing is exposed, with the upper infill mainly of painted brick and the lower part of stone. The cross wing is roughcast, and the west side features stonework. Early 19th-century casements are present, along with a late 19th-century gabled brick porch that has a four-panelled door. The east elevation of the cross wing is fully framed, while the south elevation is framed mainly in the upper part, with alterations to the ground floor. Attached to the west end by a small outshot is a single-storey service building made of stone, which has a hipped tile roof.
