Description
Tignals Farmhouse is a house dating from the 17th century, with later alterations in the late 18th and 19th centuries. It is constructed of brick and tile. Originally a timber-framed lobby-entrance house, it has undergone extensions and recladding, with several changes at the rear. The front (west) elevation features two storeys and three windows. The roof is half-hipped at the south end. The walls are of painted brickwork in a Flemish bond, with a stone plinth. Windows are 20th-century casements. The front door is a six-panelled door (with four glazed panels at the top) set within a reeded frame from the early 19th century, and it is covered by a 20th-century canopy supported by struts.
