Description
Bohannas is a house that was once a shop and also served as a public house. It dates from the late 18th century and has undergone restoration in the 20th century. The building is constructed of brick and tile and features a symmetrical front facing west, with two storeys and an attic, and three windows. The roof is plain with brick dentil eaves. The walls are made of painted brickwork in header bond, featuring rubbed flat arches, a first-floor band, and a plinth. All the ground floor openings have been altered; the central doorway has been converted into a window, the south side window has been widened, and the north side has been widened to create a doorway with flanking lights. The rear part of the building retains some timber-framing from an earlier, smaller structure, and there is a brick vaulted cellar built into the steep hillside.
