Description

Overton Cottage is a cottage dating from the 16th century, with early 19th-century features and a restoration in the 20th century. It has mixed walling materials and a thatched roof. The building is timber-framed, consisting of one storey and an attic, and has three windows. The frame is mostly exposed in the upper walls and the north gable, with brick infill and some stone, while the south gable is tile-hung with fish scale tiles. The lower walls are primarily made of ironstone with galletted joints and brick quoins. The cottage has casement windows and two boarded doors in plain frames, one of which is located within an open framed porch that has a hipped thatch roof. The west elevation features a small window frame with diagonal wood mullions.
