Description

Milestone located 140 metres east of Shrubbery House, dating from around 1825. This stone pillar has a square section and is placed diagonally. The upper part of the front features a curved section below a quadrant sloping panel and above a small triangular sloping panel. The top is inscribed with the parish name "Froyle," while the rounded front displays "LONDON," and the triangular panel shows "44," indicating the mileage from London. The lower faces are inscribed on the east side with "Alton 3" and on the west side with "Farnham 6."
