Description

Turnpike Cottage is a 17th and 18th century cottage located on North Street in Ropley. The upper walls are timber-framed with a distinctive herringbone infill pattern, while the lower walls are constructed of flint with brick quoins and a prominent plinth band. The roof is thatched, with a catslide section at the rear and eyebrow dormers. The west front features one storey and an attic, with three windows. It has 20th century casement windows and a 20th-century half-timbered porch with a thatched roof that extends from the main roof’s eaves.
