Description
Pond Cottage is an early 19th-century cottage, originally built as a pair of dwellings. It stands in Upper Wield. The cottage is constructed of coursed flint walls with brick quoins and has a thatched roof. The symmetrical west front has one storey and an attic, with a layout of two bays above four windows. The roof is hipped, with eyebrow dormers and a catslide at the rear. Features include cambered arches, vertical details, and a plinth. The windows are casements. There are two plain doorways, one with a 20th-century brick porch that has a gabled slate roof. A late 19th-century brick outshot with a hipped slate roof is located on the north side.
