Description

Jenkyn Place is a large house built in the early 18th century, with restorations and extensions added in the early 20th century. The structure features brick and stone walls topped with a hipped tile roof. The L-shaped design primarily reflects the second period, but the east wall showcases the original Queen Anne front, which is two storeys high with an attic and has ten windows. The walls are constructed in Flemish bond, featuring rubbed flat arches and a deep stone plinth with a plain moulding, along with a small projection at the entrance bay. The windows are sashes from the 20th century, complemented by two older leaded mullion and transom lights. The half-glazed door is topped with a large moulded canopy, supported by slender columns dating from the early 19th century.

On the south elevation, which is from the early 20th century, there are five windows, and the hipped roof includes three flat-roofed dormers. The upper floor is tile-hung, while the ground floor is brick with sashes. At the rear, which forms the inner part of the angle, the wall behind the east front is made of rough ashlar with brick dressings, and the upper part is also tile-hung. The other walling generally follows the style of the early 20th century and includes sashes and shell doorcases.
