Description

Stantons Farmhouse is a 17th, 18th, and early 19th century building. It consists of a two-storey main block with a double roof, a two-storey cross-wing to the south, and a single-storey utility wing to the north. The front, facing east, has 1.3 windows. The roof is tiled, with half-hipped gables on the slightly projecting south side and elsewhere. The walls are rendered. The windows are sash windows set in reveals. A Victorian open-gabled porch with a timber frame is present at the front, leading to an old six-panelled door. The south elevation is symmetrical, with two windows where a central doorway once stood. Inside, heavy beams and the partial exposure of horizontal timbers and massive chimney breasts indicate an earlier timber-framed house origin.
