Description

SU 55 NW ECCHINSWELL & SYDMONTON HIGH STREET 8/5 Schoolhouse GV II

Mid C19. Gothic L-shaped dwelling of one-storey, with features following the pattern of the school. Tiled roof with scalloped bands, decorated bargeboards to the south side gablet. Blue brick walling with Bathstone dressings; quoins, hood-moulds, plinth. Mullioned and transomed windows, with an angular bay on the south side. The entrance in the angle is an elaborate structure, with a Gothic doorway, abutment, blue bricks with stone quoins, with a narrowing octagonal stone base to a timber turret surmounted by a circular leaded fleche.
