Description

This mid-19th century school features a Gothic hall with a cross-wing at the north end and a porch at the angle. The roof is tiled, showcasing two wide bands of scalloped tiles, a decorative ridge, and elaborate bargeboards with finials, along with a small triangular dormer for ventilation. An octagonal stone chimney stack adds to the character of the building. The walls are constructed from square-knapped flint with Bathstone dressings, including bands, quoins, a plinth, and Tudor windows that are mullioned and transomed on the north side gable, complemented by angle buttresses. The timber-framed porch is adorned with decorative bargeboards and curving struts, resting on stone base walls. Inside the porch, there is a moulded pointed arch leading to the doorway, which features a boarded door fitted with Gothic wrought-iron hinges.
