Description

Golding House is an 18th-century, two-storey house featuring three significant elevations that surround an older core. The east facade has a configuration of two, three, and two windows, with a recessed centre on the ground floor that includes a flat-roofed verandah. The yellow brick walls are laid in Flemish bond and have rubbed flat arches over the first-floor arched windows, stone cills, and a plinth. The parapet is topped with a coping stone and a flat band of rosettes made of Coade stone. The windows are sashes set in reveals, and the verandah is constructed of stone, supported by two plain columns and end pilasters in the Tuscan Order, leading up to two stone steps. The central doorway features an architrave that encloses a fanlight and a glazed door.

The north elevation, facing the road, has a layout of two, one, and one windows, with Venetian lights flanking the doorway in a projecting unit. The sashes are present here as well. The doorcase is adorned with a full entablature, small modillion, and a pulvinated frieze, with Doric pilasters framing a modern window. The facing of yellow mathematical tiles has been temporarily removed. The south elevation consists of three, three, and three windows, with a bow-shaped centre section and a 20th-century west section. The walling treatment continues around all three sides, featuring tile and slate roofing, along with a few delicate wrought-iron window boxes on the upper floor.
