Description
Eastlands is an early 19th-century building that originally featured a symmetrical facade facing east at right angles to the road, with a slightly later extension to the north and a more recent addition at the north end. The building has two storeys and a window arrangement of three on the ground floor and two on the upper floor. It is topped with a low-pitched slate roof that has wide moulded eaves, with the lower mouldings extending around the tops of pilasters and the central projection. The walls are made of red brick in Flemish bond, with rubbed flat arches, stone cills, and a plinth. There are thin pilasters on either side, and the north corner of the extension features Victorian sash windows set in reveals. The entrance includes a Tuscan porch with two columns and two thin pilasters on a moulded stone step, topped with an architrave that encloses an elaborate radiating fanlight, a reeded door frame, and a six-panelled double door. Inside, there is a plain staircase.
