Description

The Anchor Inn and Flintz, at numbers 28 and 30 London Street, Basingstoke, are buildings dating from the 18th and 19th centuries. The structure is characterised by a substantial tile roof, hipped at the western end, and a rendered facade. The building is two-storeys high, with an additional attic to number 30, and features five regularly spaced upper windows. Number 28 has three sash windows, while number 30 has two later mullion and transom casement windows. The ground floor of number 28 has a late 19th-century timber casing, with modern windows flanking a central doorway, which is distinguished by a cornice, frieze, and six pilasters. Number 30 has a modern shop front.
