SU 65 NW BRAMLEY BRAMLEY 5/31 Gray's House (including forecourt walls and railings)

C18, C19. A 2-storeyed house of several periods. The west (garden) elevation has 3 windows on the north side, separated from a wider 4 window south side by a projecting taller wing with rounded corners, containing large triple-lights. Tile roof, stone coping to the parapet of the projecting wing. Red brick walling in Flemish bond, first floor band and a plinth at the north side. Sashes in reveals. A finely-wrought white stone doorcase (by Soane ?) has a full Doric Order with a pediment, the 3/4 columns being attached to a rusticated background. The east elevation is mid C19 Tudor Gothic, with 2 large and 2 small gables, hood moulds above mullion and transom windows (with 2 angular bays to the ground floor). The forecourt has a roadside brick wall with panels, a coping band, and wrought iron thin rails of ogee pattern.
