Description
Old Bells House is a building that dates from the 17th century, with some mid-19th century extensions added to the north and south. It is two storeys high with an irregular arrangement of windows. The roof is tiled and features gabled dormers with bargeboards and tiled fronts, as well as diagonal flues on square stacks. The upper walls are tile-hung with scalloped bands, while the lower part is constructed of brickwork, revealing exposed timber-framing in the central section. The windows include casements, some of which are small and plain, while some ground-floor windows have projecting frames supported by brackets and pent roofs. There are also two sash windows. At the front of the house, which faces south, there is a two-storey porch with a jettied first floor, a Tudor archway for the doorway, and small round-headed windows.
