Description
Silchester Hall is a mid-19th century building featuring a two-storey main block and a slightly lower wing to the south-west. The symmetrical south-east elevation, which faces the garden, has a window arrangement of three sets of three, with the center being a half-octagonal projection. The roof is hipped and covered with slate, and the eaves are supported by coupled brackets. The exterior is constructed of yellow stock brick in Flemish bond, with rubbed flat arches above the windows, and the lower openings set in arched recesses. It includes Victorian sash windows and a central French door. The north-east entrance front displays similar architectural details, with projecting sides and a more pronounced central projection that features a pediment or gable adorned with a brick dentil band and verges. This front has a window arrangement of five, with a plain central doorway. The south-west wing is simpler in design, constructed of painted brickwork.
