Description

Irving’s Ghyll Cottage consists of two distinct sections. The south range likely dates from the 17th century, while the north range was built in the late 18th century. The cottage is two storeys high and has two windows. The ground floor of the front is painted brick, while the upper floor is faced with weatherboarding. The roof is slate. To the west of the main front range is a later, single-story building with a roof that rises to meet the earlier 17th-century wing. This building was originally constructed as a shop front but is no longer used as such.
