Description

The New Inn is an 18th-century building located on German Street in Winchelsea. It has two storeys and an attic, featuring two windows and three dormers on the east side, and five windows and five dormers on the north side. The exterior is made of painted brick and includes a string course and a modillion eaves cornice. The roof is mansarded and hipped, covered with tiles, and the glazing bars are intact. The building has two bays on both the ground and first floors, with a doorway that has pilasters, the lower portion of which is grooved, and a projecting cornice above. Beneath the building is a vaulted cellar dating back to around 1300.
