Description

Landgate House, along with the adjacent building at No. 2, dates from the 18th century, although the buildings themselves are likely older. The frontages are tiled and now painted, with tiled roofs. There are three windows on each floor. Modern shop windows are present. A fine Gothic vaulted cellar lies beneath No. 1, Landgate House. These buildings form a group with numbers 1 to 4 on the south side of The Landgate, together with The Forge and Forge House on East Cliff.
